Lily\u2019s dependence on Nathan.<\/p>\n<p>Create evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Prepare Friday\u2019s move.<\/p>\n<p>Meredith had layered her own financial fear onto that plan.<\/p>\n<p>The sisters had participated at different levels.<\/p>\n<p>And the doorbell camera had interrupted everything before the plan could become a cross-country relocation.<\/p>\n<p>But twenty parts into the long unraveling, Nathan finally understood something else.<\/p>\n<p>Winning custody would not be the ending.<\/p>\n<p>Arrests would not be the ending.<\/p>\n<p>Exposing Meredith\u2019s money would not be the ending.<\/p>\n<p>The real outcome would be measured in whether Lily could grow up without believing love required secrecy, fear, or choosing one parent\u2019s version of reality over her
